Online Driver Education Courses
We are excited to offer Online Driver Education Courses to all our students!
This is a new course for adults and teens. If you are enrolled in the Driver Ed To Go course, (enrolled prior to 9/28/2022) you will still be able to complete that course with us. Contact us at 540-424-6844 to arrange for your final exam and PSTD Presentation if applicable.
30-hour Online Driver Education Course
Cost: $225
Convenient, self-paced!
*THIS COURSE IS NOT A PRE-REQUISITE FOR A LEARNER'S PERMIT
The 30-hour Online Driver Education Course meets state requirements for licensure and is a pre-requisite for the Behind the Wheel Course and the Adult Waiver Program. (This course is equivalent to the course offered by public schools during Health/PE 10.)
Students can take this course simultaneously with Behind the Wheel if enrolled with Street SMART for both courses.
The course consists of at least 30 hours of instruction including components about alcohol safety, drug abuse awareness, aggressive driving, distracted driving, pedestrian and bicycle safety, handicapped parking, fuel-efficient driving practices, motorcycle awareness, and organ and tissue donation awareness.
Students under the age of 18, must also take 90-minute Partners for Safe Teen Driving Parent/Teen Presentation. (PSTD)
If you are taking the 30-hour course online with us, the 90-minute Presentation is included.
Course Requirements
Open to teens and adults.
You must be at least 15 years old to take the online driver education course.
Access to the exam requires 30 hrs of time spent in the course.
The final exam must be administered by a licensed instructor with Street SMART Driving Academy.

4. When you complete the course and are ready to take the exam, please email us at ssda4u2@gmail.com to set up an appointment to take your exam and PSTD Presentation, if applicable.
5. Upon successful completion of Final Exam and PSTD Presentation if applicable, you will receive a Certificate of Classroom Completion (DTS 36)
Bring with you to exam:
1. Photo ID
2. A completed "Parental Consent for Online Driver Education Examination" (DTS 62)

8 Hour Online Driver Manual Course
This course is 100% online!
Cost: $200
If you failed the VA Learner's Permit 3 times you are eligible to take our Online 8-Hour Driver's Manual Course, if you meet at least one of the following requirements:
1. You are an adult 18 years or older
or
2. You are under 18 and have completed a Driver's Education course and have proof of completion of that course via a DEC card (public or private school, Pink Card) or a DTS 36 from a DMV licensed driving school. You will need to scan a copy and email it to ssda4u2@gmail.com

4. When you successfully pass this course, you will receive an Electronic Certificate of Completion DTS8 E, which you will then print and take to the DMV to be eligible to take the VA Permit Test again until you pass.
