Junior Field Hockey player Josie Rossbach! As a captain of the Pride, Josie has totaled 20 goals and 7 assists thus far in the season. The girls sit with only 1 loss on the season after making the State semi-finals just a year ago.
Courtney balanced heavy schoolwork with AP courses and a long volleyball schedule. She held a high GPA during the varsity volleyball season. While balancing volleyball and school, she has been training and working towards being accepted into the Air Force Academy. Being able to accomplish so much for her collegiate future while playing on a varsity team with a winning record says a great deal about Courtney's tenacity and character.
For a majority of the season, Ryan has been the fastest freshman male cross country athlete in the state of Virginia, according to Milestat rankings. Ryan has led the Cross Country team the entire season and earned All-District honors finishing 12th at the Dulles District Meet on October 25th. Ryan trained all summer to be ready for his high school running career and his hard work has continued through the season. He also always has a positive attitude and supports his teammates.
In the month of December, Seth had a record of 19-3 and was the 285-lb Champion of the LCPS Championship and placed 2nd at the Broad Run Spartan Slam, defeating a State Ranked wrestler along the way. Following those victories, Seth became a top 10 ranked wrestler in VA at 285 and is currently ranked 8th in the State.
John has had a phenomenal year so far for Heritage Pride Swimming. In addition to setting a school record (4:54) in the 500 freestyle, he has made State time cuts in the 100 Butterfly and the 200 Individual Medley. He has also made Regional time cuts in the 100 Backstroke and the 200 Freestyle. He was elected a team captain (as a Junior) this year, and he has been an exceptional example for our team.
